The future of cardiac MR is now: a new powerhouse solution for cardiac MR analysis

Maastricht, May 23rd 2018 – Pie Medical Imaging has released a new Cardiac MR application “CAAS MR Solutions”. The application is a merge of Caas MRV, MR Flow, and the industry leading MR 4D Flow into one integrated cardiac MR imaging solution. The new release includes improved workflows and new features. CAAS MR Solutions is presented during this year’s joint ESTI-ESCR Annual Scientific Meeting on May 24th-29th in Genèva, Switzerland.

Innovation in cardiac MR imaging techniques have led to faster acquisition times, improved image quality and an increased amount of available data. CAAS MR Solutions offers the complete range of analysis options that will guide cardiologists, radiologist, imaging specialists and neurologist to a clinical diagnosis in a few easy steps. CAAS MR Solutions makes cardiac MR analysis easily accessible for clinical practice and research purposes. Main areas of applications are in:

• Analyze cardiac function and dysfunction e.g. in Dilated Cardiomyopathy or Right Ventricular Heart Failure;
• Accurately quantify and visualize valvular disease hemodynamics e.g. aortic regurgitation; using 2D or 4D Flow
• Calculate and visualize shunts e.g. in Patent Ductus Arteriosus;
• Better understand hemodynamic and functional disturbances caused by corrections of Congenital Heart Disease e.g. Fontan Circulation;
• Retrospective, automated analysis for accurate serial assessment of disease progression e.g. aortic arch dilation in bicuspid valve patients;
• New parameters, such as wall shear stress, for risk stratification in cardiovascular disease e.g. in Marfan Syndrome;
• Quantify LV diastolic “echo” parameters (Peak E velocity, Peak A velocity, E’, E/e’) on using 4D Flow;
• Analyze infarcted area and area at risk to plan a targeted intervention e.g. in Coronary Artery Disease;
• Visualize and quantify intra- and extracellular disturbances in the myocardium associated with e.g. Anderson-Fabry, amyloidosis and iron overload;
• Workflows for phase contrast image analyses are broadly applicable for all structures with moving fluids e.g. cerebrospinal fluid within the skull or spine, small vessels in the brain, or peripheral vessels such as the hepatic or iliac vein.
