Catharina Hospital Eindhoven announces their collaboration with two leading technology companies in the field of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, Pie Medical Imaging and Medtronic. Both companies make their state of the art technologies available to optimize clinical practice at Catharina Hospital.
A state of the art treatment program
This collaboration combines the expertise of Catharina Hospital in TAVR procedures with Pie Medical Imaging’s technologically advanced 3mensio Structural Heart software. 3mensio Structural Heart is an image analysis solution dedicated to planning the implantation of prosthetic valves such as Medtronic’s CoreValve.
Dr. Jacques Koolen of Catharina Hospital:
‘’We decided to collaborate with Pie Medical Imaging and Medtronic to establish a state of the art treatment program. The use of the sophisticated 3mensio Structural Heart software allows us to thoroughly plan the CoreValve procedures. We are able to calculate and visualize the exact dimensions of the anatomy of the native aortic valve to select the perfect size prosthesis and determine the optimal projection to position the new valve. This saves procedure time and ultimately improves patient care.’’
